recording session
It was my groups turn to record drums in studio 1, in this session I recorded drums for our song that will be used for Matt’s project and Toby’s project. We used AKG C430 condenser mics as overheads, Shure SM57 for the snare and one inside the kick drum to pick up the beater hitting head. And an AKG D112 for the kick drum placed in the port-hole on the resonant head. One of our challenges set by Matt was to experiment with EQ through Logic Pro X on one of the drum track, we tried it on the kick drum by bringing up some of the mid to high-end frequencies and also more attack and clarity.
performance session
In this session we aimed to rehearse and develop our 2 songs that we have been working on. Since we have to perform a 10-15 minutes setlist and our first song (Heartbroken) is 5 minutes long, and our second song (Joyless) is 2-3 minutes long we are going to do an acoustic original cover of “Ain’t Talkin Bout Love” by Van Halen, with Jamie on acoustic guitar, me on a cajon, Maisa on vocals and Kristen on bass.
